Dreamweaver javascript error when applying Form Validator

This is a new install of DW5.5 on Windows 7. When inserting the Form Validator, an error is generated:

While executing onLoad in Form validate.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 1059 of file C"\Users\Ed Stewart\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS5.5\en_US\Configuration\Behaviors\Actions\dwz Form Validator\Form Validate.js":
field.obj.type has no properties

Then the Form Validator window opens, but the bottom half is blank.
